ARMOURCOTE 3420, 3400 and 3300

1. Scope

   These specifications cover the requirements for electro-deposition of silver, copper and zinc cobalt metal for the application where anti-galling and corrosion resistance is required.
   
   

2. General

   Electro-deposits are a barrier coating against steel to protect the underlying metal by sealing it off from the environment rather than by sacrificial action.
   
   They offer excellent lubricity in the case of Armourcote 3420 due to its natural malleability.

3. Coating Requirements

   (1)  The coating is for a functional requirement.
   (2)  Thickness – The coating thickness shall be controlled to meet the individual customers requirements but is normally within the range of 0.0005” – 0.002”.
