Phosphating

We offer both zinc and manganese phosphate as a protective or preparatory conversion coating for mild steel components.

The process starts with the component being blown down using filtered compressed air to remove loose contaminants, and to clear threads and bores. The component is then jet washed with an alkaline soap solution before being rinsed and placed into the 10,000 litre phosphate tank.

The phosphating process is used at East Kilbride on components which are due to be coated with dry film lubricants. We also carry out phosphating as a process in it's own right, post coating the component with Gardorol oil to impart corrosion resistant properties to the part.
